Real life and all its challenges happen every day.

Don't face them alone...

We're here

for you

At Central, you’ll find a community of real people,

who passionately love Jesus and others, and are striving toward building an authentic

and abundant life.

We are a community of people who are part of God's family who love, follow, learn from,

and worship God together. We believe God sends us out to share the gospel and embody Christ’s love by the quality of our life together and our love for one another.

Join us every Sunday 10:45am

5855 Imperial Steet

Burnaby, B.C.

This is who we are

"We're a church that genuinely wants

to bring hope and love

to our community."

What's church like?

We're saving a seat for you!

                                      10:45am Sunday Mornings

We're not concerned about how you're dressed,  what your background is or how many tattoos you have. We're a church full of broken, imperfect people with every kind of story imaginable, and we're saving a seat for you!

Here's what you can expect

  • Nice people. We LOVE it when someone comes for the first time. But, we don’t always recognize the first-time visitors because so many of the people who come are still fairly new, so feel free to say, “This is my first time” and we’ll guide you in!

  • A casual atmosphere. We care about YOU, not what you’re wearing, so feel free to come in jeans or whatever is comfortable. Our dress code is simple: wear something. Grab a hot cup of free coffee and a cookie from our Cafe' and sit wherever you’d like! We will NOT single you out publicly or ask you to say anything, and we do NOT expect guests to contribute anything financially.

  • A fun, safe environment for kids. Kids love it at Central! If you bring your kids, you’ll check them in and out each Sunday at our Check-In area in the lobby and our security volunteers will monitor the halls during the service. Babies and toddlers are cared for by loving volunteers. All of our kid's ministry volunteers must pass background checks and have a heart for kids and families.

  • Practical teaching. Teaching that connects the words of the Bible to everyday life and music that is lively, loud and passionate including drums and guitars. Don’t be surprised when some people raise their hands as a sign of praise while singing, and don’t feel obligated to do so yourself. We create an atmosphere of freedom in our services.

We stay contemporary, and flexible in our approach to church. We want to do everything we can to find and help people who are far from God. We’re crazy about broken people and we’ll get our hands messy to serve others.

Everybody belongs – every color, every shape, every personality, and people with every kind of story imaginable. We trust the Bible completely.  We value Kingdom growth and invest in multiplying new churches locally, nationally, and globally. And we do everything we can to make sure the name of Jesus is lifted high.

We want our families to experience three things: wonder for who God is, discovery of who He created them to be, and passion for loving others. Everything we offer is designed to help Kids, Middle Schoolers ,High Schoolers and Young Adults begin to take ownership of their faith.

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Typically run over eleven weeks, each session looks at a different question that people can have about faith and is designed to create conversation. It’s just an open, informal and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together.

What does Alpha look like?

There isn’t really an average Alpha. Alpha is run in local communities all around the world, and everyone’s welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, bars, prisons, parks, universities, schools, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.

Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. Most sessionsstartwithfood, because it’s a great way to build community and get to know each other.

The talks are designed to engage guests and inspire conversation. Usually around thirty minutes long, they can be given as a live talk or played as a video, all for free. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can I have faith?

Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

Alpha is where I was able to go with people from all walks of life and come together to discuss faith. We ate together, we talked together, and we learned from each other.
